The Texas measles outbreak was ‘inevitable’ because of low vaccination rates --local doctors.

An outbreak of measles is wreaking havoc in the South Plains region of Texas, where nearly 60 children have been confirmed to be infected. Physicians in the state say the current situation was “inevitable” due to the low rates of vaccination among the largely Mennonite community.

Among adults in Ravensburg, Germany, financial incentives for COVID-19 vaccination did not result in significant changes to vaccine uptake and may have inadvertently lowered community vaccination levels, according to a recently published study in JAMA Network Open
